This week as I was heading back to my house from a late practice I got in a combie. When I was about to sit down I was going to put my phone in my pocket and it slipped from my hands and fell on the floor. I looked several minutes for it and people even helped me look for it. However, it was nowhere to be seen. I noticed that the doors in the van are slightly opened out because of how old they are. I was certain it fell through the crack and probably gotten ran over by now. However, the next day my roommate received a call from a guy saying he found a phone on the side of the road. We decided to meet up and I had to go to Angamos a town approximately 40 minutes from where I live to pick it up. Angamos is my everyday route so I knew the area well. Thankfully I have my Peruvian phone back because I actually use it to talk and meet up with my friends.
Some weakened I was invited me to a birthday party from someone in the studio. We went and it was great! It was pretty much a dance party, but Latinos have a way to make it fun. There was so much dancing! Salsa, reggeton, merengue, bachata and even different types of hip-hop style. The next weekend we went to a dance battle called Freestyle Session. The winner got to go to Brazil. It was such a great competition! So much talent and I met two Brazilian guys who wanted me to do a mini photo shoot. I only took one picture though and left. It was a great battle, the winning team was of course happy, none of my friends danced but the friend that invited me had friends that were dancing. I will defiantly be going to one of these battles in the U.S.
Again, even more dancing every Friday there are free workshops that my friends host. We all go to learn and dance. It is so much fun because it is at Park Kennedy in Miraflores and every time there is an audience watching. This last time the girls did a hip-hop choreography and it was good! I also got to go to the movies in Chorrillos! It was only five soles! Five soles are almost two dollars! We watched The Fast and the Furious 7, and it was a very good movie theaters here are slightly different. For one, they don’t start exactly on time; of course it’s Peru. Secondly, you have to wait right outside the theatre door until everyone gets out to be seated. I think there were only two or three rooms. However, today was a discount day as well. I’ve only got a couple of days left, so I’m making it worth it!
